The Digital television transition in the United States for high-powered transmission was completed on 12 June 2009, the date set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).  Currently, no United States TV stations broadcast an analog signal, but some stations in Canada and Mexico still do.

A Digital TV Converter box is an electronic device that converts the free over-the-air digital signal into an analog signal viewable on older analog television sets.  An antenna or rabbit ears is still required.  The digital-to-analog box connects in-between the antenna and the TV set.  If the converter box includes an analog pass-through feature, this set up will receive any stations that still broadcast in analog in your area.
